Deborah: As we had mentioned from past podcasts about the song “what’s love got to do with it”. We wanted to explore a bit further about this made popular during the 5th month of 1984, categorized as a pop song, by who most know was sung by the singer under whose name is said to be, as documented by her father,

Audience: Oh really

Deborah: through the U.S.A.’s (United States of America) Census Bureau, which began the standardization in the year 1900, of adapted ways to record a birth, as well as whom the baby was born from and the finalized standards were established by the US Congress in the year 1902…

Audience: umm interesting.

Deborah: he gave his little baby girl the name  Martha Nell Bullock.

Audience: Martha Who? 

Deborah: Umm Martha Nell Bullock?

Hebrew Israelite Woman (HIW): Yeah you’re making this up?

Deborah: Really?

HIW: Yeah, you could have at least said Anna Mae Bullock, who was USA-born and relinquished her USA citizenship as a now Swiss nationalist, I would have agreed with you on that, but Martha Nell Bullock common now, y’all messin’ up!

Deborah: Hmm, interesting…  Anna Mae Bullock we can note is a name most will find,

Audience: I thought so

Deborah: but officially, on a birth certificate, named by the father, to the USA documented in divorce court stage name of “Tina Turner”, we are holding on to her name in the USA as Martha Nell Bullock, notably her signing of her name has been sighted as an adult as Martha Nell Turner, but again we note that Anna Mae was what her mother nicknamed her, as we came across information that she did not like the name Martha Nell legally documented by her father, but we have no information about “Anna Mae” being a USA legal name.  But from here on we can officially call the Swiss nationalist Tina Turner as at least, to us, it seems as a Swiss nationalist, that is what she is officially documented as by Switzerland.

HIW: Tina Turner, agreed, yes much better

Deborah: So, as we were starting from the start the pop song made popular during the year 1984 of the 5th month, was sung by the Swiss nationalist, Tina Turner (who is USA documented born Martha Nell Bullock (nicknamed Anna Mae)), who was supposed at the age of 44 years old, during the time of this song “What’s Love Got to Do with It”.  From what we have examined this song “What’s Love Got to Do with It”, resurrected her at that time, as it was noted, her music career was fading prior to the release of the single…But did you know it was not written by her?

Audience: What!, Tina Turner is an amazing singer!

Deborah: Oh Yes, the Swiss nationalist, Tina Turner’s Voice, we agree is undeniable, but Grammy-winning songwriters Graham Lyle (from Scotland) and (Manchester England born) Terry Britten wrote a song about love. So, these Caucasian males were excited about the completion of their song, which was around 1982/1983. And they first gave this song to Cliff Richard…

HIW: Cliff who?

Deborah: Cliff Richard…who was a Caucasian from England who sang the lead vocal for a 1958-1968 English hit group called The Shadows.

HIW: Okay, I am lost, What’s your point here?

Deborah: Cliff Richard was first offered the song that songwriters Graham Lyle and Terry Britten wrote, and that song was “What’s Love Got to Do with It”, which was a male’s perspective on (l-o-v-e) love.

HIW: NAH stop playin’.  So this guy, Cliff Richard sang it first in 1982!?

Deborah: Nope

HIW: NO!! What in the W…

Deborah: Cliff Richard for some reason rejected it, so the songwriters went to the soulful singer Phyllis Hyman…

HIW: Oh, Phyllis Hyman? Yeah, she has a beautiful voice, she put her soul into that song I am sure, but I never heard her sing it.

Deborah: We Agreed, she never got to sing it, because it was reported that Clive Davis (at that time the head of Arista Records), who Phyllis Hyman was contracted under rejected it. But Donna Summer did except the song.

HIW: What a minute, Donna Summer (the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach No. 1 on Billboard’s album chart), that Donna Summer?

Deborah: Yes, that Donna Summer.

HIW: I also don’t recall her singing the song.

Deborah: Again, your right, because it was reported she just let it sit………..never did anything with it.

HIW: Okay, okay, now Tina Turner took it over and did her thing.

Deborah: Nope

HIW: What?!

Deborah: The song went to the British Caucasian group who were winners in 1981 for the Eurovision Song Contest and their name was Bucks Fizz.  And during the 2nd month of the year of 1984, the male singer Bobby G was told to sing the lead vocals as producers saw it fit for a male to sing lead to the song.

HIW: All the hoops y’all went through, I still have not recalled hearing them sing it?!

Deborah: That one exists.

HIW: What?!, get out of here!

Deborah: Yeah, but when the Swiss nationalist, Tina Turner recorded the song right after the group Bucks Fizz did theirs, there was a bit of tension

HIW: I am sure because I bet Tina Turner wanted hers on her album because she knew it was going to be a hit?

Deborah: Ahhhh Nah, the Swiss nationalist Tina Turner is documented stating “It was terrible. It was awful,” “I was rock ‘n’ roll … This was a pop song.”

HIW: Get out of here, Ahh come now Tina did her thing though!

Deborah: Even Terry Britten, if recalled is one of the original co-writers for “What’s Love Got to Do With It” and produced the track for the Swiss nationalist Tina Turner said “’What’s Love got to do with it’ was probably the worst thing I’ve ever done to this date,” he continues saying,“…very white, very pop. And nothing remotely would say ‘Tina Turner.’ “

HIW: Dannngggg!!!

Deborah: They had to convince the Swiss nationalist, Tina Turner to make it her own and it is recorded that once she half willingly, started and finally finished the track,  it became the Swiss nationalist, Tina Turner’s 1st and only number one Billboard hot 100, 1.5 million copies worldwide on track.

Deborah: Yes, but let’s look at the message from those males that wrote it and those same males that produced it.

HIW: OKAY?! let’s do that.

Deborah: The song’s original intent has a male (who would have been singing), pointing he enjoys the carnal aka lustful, sensual, body encounters, with his female partner, He wants her to understand that there is nothing more to it and for him it’s “purely physical”. They’re behind closed bedroom doors, meet-ups, hookups, has nothing to do with l o v e (love), which he dismisses the l o v e (love) term as “a sweet, old-fashioned notion”.

HIW: I did not realize it took that much to get this song out.

Deborah: We wanted to show that, this song is not the anthem for females, that they think.

HIW: What do you mean? That’s my song

Deborah: We re-remind, that this was written by males and originally recorded for and first record-ably sung by a male as that was the original vision.

HIW: That changed though.

HIW: I do not think I read too deep into the lyrics like that.  This was and still is a recognized as a female-focused song!

Deborah: Yes, so the switch?

Deborah: The male writers did not lie, all males are not like this,

Audience: What! come on! seriously!

Deborah: but that is the reality females are noticing. So now musically twist it around and a female’s voice is replacing the male’s and now the female has l o v e (love) less, carnal aka lustful, sensual, body encounters, behind the closed doors, meet-ups, hookups aka dates or dating, that is “purely physical”.

HIW: Wooo!, then this song has helped make a new movement.

Audience: I have to think about this. Can I think about this?

Deborah: The Grammy-winning song, cautions the listener to avoid confusing physical attraction aka relationship less intercourse and emotional affection or attractions with what is told or taught as true L O V E (love). A similar idea and warning is also applied through the Christian religions to exercise caution while attempting to understand or define their Greek Testament concept of L O V E (love)—especially as it relates to their supposed resurrected deity those may call Jesus (Yeshuah, YESU).

Audience: Hmm

Deborah: What ‘L O V E (love)’ means from person to person, let alone from century to century, is one of the most lopsided definitions in the colonizer taught English language. Moving from the Greek transformation we mentioned in the last podcast, we now see in the slightly around or before the 12th century CE (Common Era) that the word ‘love’ was once

Deborah: When ‘l o v e’ was merged into the Old English colonizer language as ‘lufu’, it had turned into what we had pointed out prior…

HIW: Which was what?

Deborah: It turned into both a noun to describe, ‘deep affection’ and its offspring verb, ‘to be very fond of’.  Now that was DEEP research on “love” We hope we made it clear that the false lies on “love” goes deep.[clown noise] NOT.  So when/if you use this word it is best to make your attention known.
